· Attention all seniors there will be a short application period for you to apply for membership in the National Honor Society. As of the end of the last school year, you must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or a weighted GPA of 4.0 in order to apply. If you believe that you qualify, pick up an application from Mrs. Ahearn in room 255. Completed applications will be due on October 9, 2009.

The Violet Richardson Award is seeking applications from young ladies between the ages of 14 and 17 who have gone above and beyond the required community service hours. · Hey Northwest—mark your calendars for next Wednesday—October 14th.
· 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will take the PSAT. Seniors will either take the Accuplacer or a practice ACT! Those homerooms with perfect attendance on the 14th will receive edible treats, so make sure you are in school and on time on the 14th! And now for the SAT word of the Day.
