  • · Attention all seniors there will be a short application period for you to apply for membership in the National Honor Society. As of the end of the last school year, you must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or a weighted GPA of 4.0 in order to apply. If you believe that you qualify, pick up an application from Mrs. Ahearn in room 255. Completed applications will be due on October 9, 2009.
  • o Babysitting at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School in a group setting at PTA meetings.
  • o Volunteers needed at Light the Night, October 10, 2021 at Rockville Town Center (Evening event). All Volunteers will receive a tee shirt, dinner from Hard Times Café, and Fun –filled evening.
  • o Community Service Day October 24th and 25th
  • o 1st Annual Book Fair (THE ARC) needs volunteers early November. GET INFORMATION FROM COUNSELING OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • · ALL Junior girls interested in playing in the Powder Puff game, please attend the meeting at Lunch on MONDAY in room 113 in the PE hallway.

  • · To those seniors applying for the UMBC Meyerhoff nominations, they are due to the College/Career Information Center by October 8. The Violet Richardson Award is seeking applications from young ladies between the ages of 14 and 17 who have gone above and beyond the required community service hours. The deadline to apply is December 1.

  • · Hey Northwest—mark your calendars for next Wednesday—October 14th.
  • · 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will take the PSAT. Seniors will either take the Accuplacer or a practice ACT! Those homerooms with perfect attendance on the 14th will receive edible treats, so make sure you are in school and on time on the 14th! And now for the SAT word of the Day.
  • · Are you ready for some football? Calling all senior ladies, it’s almost November and you know what that means: POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL time!
  • · We will be having a meeting for all ladies interested in demolishing the juniors. The meeting will be this Thursday during lunch in room 337 (Ms. Dorga’s room). See you there!
